Introduction:

I am a pastor's wife, mom, and a grandmother. I currently live in Florida, but am a Kentucky native. I specialize in pastel chalk/colored pencil portraits and graphite/pencil sketches of people.

I also do pen & ink drawings/illustrations of houses, churches and historic buildings. In the past, I have been commissioned to do portraits, landscapes, still life paintings, murals (both realistic and pop art) for businesses and homes, advertising design for print ads, children's book illustrations, logo design and pet portraits.

Lately, I have enjoyed painting little dogs on purses and accessories - mostly yorkies, just because I'm more familiar with them and love 'em - but I have painted other breeds as well.

I am also doing some mini paintings and original ACEOs.

Recently, my daughter and I published a children's book together. She wrote the book and I did the illustrations. http://www.kayleagrowsup.com/

How did you get your start on Etsy?

I read about it in the newspaper and thought I would try it.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Right now, I only have the mornings to do my artwork because am taking care of my granddaughter (another budding artist) in the afternoons.

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?

Hmmmmm - I am thinking of the Island of Roatan (Honduras) ... its a beautiful place!

What is your favorite Bible verse?

"I can do all things though Christ who strengthens me"
Philippians 4:13

Introduction

I am a SAHM of a 16 month old son named Lucas who is the absolute joy in my life! I’ve been married to my DH, Dave, for 8 years but we met online in a Christian Chat Room on AOL 12 years ago... how funny is that?!

Anyways, I have been writing poetry since I was 13 and, amazingly, still have every poem. I am a proud Navy brat – I grew up in Groton, CT where I was the “oddity” – having lived in the same house in Navy housing for 13 years. I came to know Christ in 1996 after a lot of prayers from friends and family. I am truly blessed to know and be loved by so many. I cannot thank God enough for the gifts He has entrusted me with and for the family and friends He put in my life.

How did you get your start on Etsy?

In January of 2008, I unexpectedly lost my job of 2 ½ years & had a really rough time finding a job.
With the encouragement from my husband, I joined a Beth Moore Study & started writing poetry again. It just came to me to put some poetry on a photo I had taken & it took off from there. I was suggested to try Etsy to sell my works & I never looked back!

What does a typical day look like for you?

There is no typical day for me! I am a SAHM with a 16 month old boy named Lucas so my day revolves around him for the most part. When I get a free moment, I happily dive into editing my photos and seeking out the right scripture or poem for the photo. On a good day, I’ll edit 20 or so photos and actually produce 4 or 5 prints for my Etsy shop. I like to post my new creations on my Angela’s Heartwork Facebook page first then I add them to my Etsy shop. This gives my fans on FB a special sneak peek. I also happily do custom orders. So if there is a scripture you like but I don’t have, I will make something for you. I love customizing!

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?

An island… any island. As long as it’s sunny with a slight breeze and I have a pen and paper in hand. Of course, I would want to stay forever, not just one day.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

I have so many! But I love James 1:18

“In His goodness He chose to make us His own children by giving us His true word. And we, out of all creation, became His choice possession.”

How beautiful is that thought? We are His choice possession… it still amazes me!
