Introduction: I became a Christian when I was 22. My husband and I have three grown sons two of whom are married, and twin granddaughters soon-to-be eight years old. I am happiest when I have everybody together – like on Christmas Day.  As for creativity, my interests growing up were more along the lines of reading and writing, but soon after my husband and I were married, I began to make things such as flowers out of wire and fabric. For a few years I worked for a lady who created lots of clever items – old world Santa’s,  muslin dolls and so on. Later on for a time, I clowned, and that really got my creativity going – from making all the costumes for myself and fellow clowns to writing the skits and learning to face paint, tie balloons and juggle.  I eventually went to work as an admin – and that’s when I started making greeting cards. We used cardmaking software to make cards for employees, and I loved it. From there I learned a lot more about designing my own graphics and so on, and these days I don’t think I ever use graphics which I have not created myself. I love seeing my work printed out and made into a card or other item.

How did you get started on Etsy?  Several years ago, an artist niece impressed me with the fact that she had actually sold an item online – through Etsy. I wrote it down and looked at it occasionally, but it took me until last February to finally open my own shop.

How did you choose your shop name?  I try to write down things I believe may actually be inspired by the Holy Spirit – and ‘butterfly feet’ was one of those things that just seemed whispered to me one day. I guess you have to believe God still talks to people to accept that. If you don’t, then think of it as one of those things that just popped into my head one day for no apparent reason.

What does a typical day look like for you? When I get up, I throw on jeans and go out to make coffee. I unload the dishwasher and make the bed, then I sit down with my coffee and Bible for my quiet time. After my husband leaves for work and I’ve had a bite of breakfast, I go to the computer and check emails, maybe catch up on blog reading and so on. If I have a sale I take care of that, but generally I move on to my writing and some blogging, or at least blog reading. I try to save the creative art stuff for later in the day, after I’ve done some writing and housework. I have to do it that way, because the art is too much fun, and I believe the Lord wants me to keep my priorities in order. It’s as though the artwork itself is the “after school treat!” One of my goals, however, is to hopefully make more time for art in the coming year.

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?
New Zealand. My husband and I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel a lot, and we have been to NZ three times now. I just can’t tell you how really beautiful it is!

What is your favorite bible verse?  It’s really hard to pick out just one, but I do especially treasure the verses that reassure my heart of God’s love and His constant presence with me, so:

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What is your favorite Etsy item listing to feature?  Creating digital patterned papers that coordinate is fun, and I especially enjoy “mouse drawing” something such as a vase and flowers and then creating textured or simple backgrounds to go with the picture. Color combinations catch my eye, and I can whittle away a lot of time trying out different backgrounds using one color scheme.

Where can we find you on the Internet?
My Etsy Shop:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/ButterflyFeetShop?ref=seller_info

My blog:  www.candidthought.com, it’s where I have been putting most of my Christian writing, although due to family issues (Mom in a nursing home) and working on my art and Etsy shop the last few months I have not blogged much lately.
My Website:  www.calicocanvas.com which also I have not done a lot with yet – but it is intended to be a site about cardmaking and paper crafting, and to point visitors to my shop on Etsy. I plan to add an Etsy tab to my blog, but the other website is MS Live, and so far they don’t allow scripting, so the Etsy Mini doesn’t work.

Thanks so much to Sherri for sharing with us.  Please take a moment to visit her shopBe sure to return to this blog post to leave a comment about your favorite item for a chance to win the printable digital papers.

...and the winner of last week's giveaway from Kristi Duggins of Bohemian Bear is Ashley. Congratulations! You will be receiving a convo/email soon.

Introduction
I live in beautiful northeastern Ohio with my wonderful husband, Tom, our three amazing boys, ages 15, 9, and 4, and our two cats, Harley and Addie.

How did you get your start on Etsy?
I was looking for a place to sell my handmade items online and when I found Etsy I knew it was the perfect place.  I was very nervous to take the plunge though .  My husband really encouraged me to try it and I'm so glad I did.

How did you choose your shop name?
My shop is named in honor of my grandparents, Bob and Mary Eleanor Huff.  My grandma was a wonderful seamstress and taught many, many girls how to sew during her years as a 4H leader.  Every summer my sisters and I would spend a week or two at my grandparent's house and Grandma always had a sewing or embroidery project for us to work on with her.  My grandpa had a wonderful sense of humor.  When he and Grandma were dating he started calling her Eleanor to tease my great-grandparents who insisted she be called by her full name, Mary Eleanor.  He was the only person who ever called her Eleanor.  They both passed away two years ago, six months apart.  They were married 60 years and were a wonderful example for their children and grandchildren of a loving and Christian marriage.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I try to get up before the rest of my family and while the house is quiet I check my emails and Etsy shop.  After breakfast I take my oldest son to school and then spend the rest of the morning homeschooling my 3rd grader and preschooler and taking care of my 3-year-old niece.  After lunch it's rest time for the kids and I do some sewing.  Then it's time for dinner and family time.  Sometimes after the kids go to bed I will sew some more.

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?
With my husband and boys.

What is your favorite Bible verse?
Right now my favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10 "Do not fear, for I am with you;  Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

What is your favorite Etsy item listing to feature?
I think it would have to be my Hooty Hoot fabric organizer basket.

Introduction
I am a proud wife and mother and an avid crafter.  My husband is a brilliant artist and always keeps me on my toes creatively and my children inspire me everyday.  I studied design in Europe and the US for several years.  Although serving my heavenly Father and my family comes first, design has a special place in my life.   It is something I've always done, something I still love.  My Etsy shop is jewelry and accessories, but I also embroider, embellish /screen print clothes and make items for my home.

Beauty Love Faith
How did you get your start on Etsy?
A friend and I were talking one day about the difficulty of finding the right styles unless we made things ourselves.  She asked me if I'd ever heard of Etsy.  I went home and looked it up.  It was love at first sight!  Within a few months I opened a shop and I just celebrated my two year anniversary in September 2010.

How did you choose your shop name?
I'm a bit of sci-fi nerd and the name of my shop is a tribute to my favorite show of all time Firefly.  Blue Sun comes from the show and I've met a few fans (Brown Coats) on Etsy who recognized the name.  I've always wanted to start an Etsy Brown Coats Team.

Dance of Light
What does a typical day look like for you?
I wake up at 5:00AM and see my husband off to work.  Next I fill orders and answer e-mails until 6:30 or so.  Then I exercise and by the time I'm on my cool down my two little girls are awake, so we head down stairs to make breakfast.  I think this time of day is the most important.  This is the time to give our attention to the Lord and when we sit down at the table the first thing we do is a devotional and prayer time.  Then we have a nice breakfast and talk about dreams we had and what we are going to that day.  After breakfast, the girls go out to play while I tidy up the house.  They come in and we home-school until lunch.  Afternoons are the time I do all my creative work.  I have the best focus for putting new combinations together and the best lighting for photographing them.  It's a quiet moment in the busyness of the day.  When it's over, it's time for dinner, baths and bedtime stories.

Garden Broach
If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?
I've traveled all over the US and Europe.  In this past year, we've lived in the Mid-west, the East Coast and the West Coast.   Where I am doesn't matter so much as with whom.  On any given day where ever my husband and daughters are, that is where I want to be.

What is your favorite Bible verse?
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to bless you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'"  Jeremiah 29:11-13

Ring Set

What is your favorite Etsy item listing to feature?
Everyone is so busy these days, I love the idea of sets and getting the whole look.  I often include vintage and handmade sets in my treasuries and I've been very pleased with my ring and barrette sets.

Introducing Tricia Bertrand from Jewels by Trish . . . her friends call her Trish.

Introduction.  I am married with two beautiful children. My daughter is 13 & my son is 5. I teach 1st grade at a private school where both my children attend. I love teaching. 1st graders are amazing!! I also love being able to be home on all the holidays & all summer with my babies! It’s the best! Some of my hobbies are reading, riding horses, occasionally scrapbooking, & of course collecting beads & gems & turning them into beautiful creations!

How did you get your start on Etsy? I got started on Etsy on the advice of some friends. I was so scared at first, but so glad I took the plunge. The community at Etsy is just amazing!! I have met so many nice people & belong to two amazing teams there!!

What does a typical day look like for you? I try to do something productive for my studio on Monday through Friday. I try to reserve weekends for the family, but sometimes the beads call my name even then. LOL

During the week, I get up around 8am. Check my Team forum threads to see what is happening for the day. I also check my Facebook page & email. If I have pieces to photograph, I try to do that in the morning. The earlier the better for pictures before the sun gets too high & casts shadows. If my muse is with me, I will begin working on a piece from start to finish. On days that my muse is with me, I may create several pieces. If my muse has decided to hide that day, then I work on picture editing & listing. I also use those days to read articles that will benefit my business. I am always looking to improve my photography skills, tags, current trends, etc.

My weekdays are not perfect as my five year old can be pretty demanding. Time out is taken to play, go swimming, review skills for his upcoming year in Kindergarten, etc. I am also the taxi for my 13 year old. Of course, household chores are rotated in as well.

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be? Jamaica!!! We went there for our honeymoon & it was an amazing place! The culture, the food, the beaches, the sounds of nature, the mountains...just stunning!!

What is your favorite Bible verse? Romans 12:2~~"Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect."
