I was at church on Sunday and something that the Pastor said caused me to look deeper into the matter of the law.

The scripture:
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes
Romans 10:4 (NKJV)

There is so much to say about the law, how we are in bondage to it. We even have our own laws that we set up for ourselves, knowingly or unknowingly, but now we are free from it in Christ.

I summarized in my side notes my own definition of the Laws:
Laws are ridiculous, unnecessary rituals that are required by Religious Establishments to earn your way into heaven.

And a summary of the verse in my notes:
By removing the laws, rituals and rules, we are able to focus on what is important.
We are able to focus on Christ our Lord and Savior
...to freely and without bonds, worship, honor, praise, serve to Glorify Him.
Becoming a perfect usable vessel, a willing sacrifice for the One who gave Himself for us.

What great a reward is there than to freely worship our Lord, and at the end see Him face to face.
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:1-2 (NKJV)

You, O Lord, have done mighty and awesome things for our sake, I thank you
for your mercy and love.
Blessings,
Julia

Julia, this is a beautiful post. My heart is heavy over Sue's passing and this post reassures and offers solace. We must endure and continue the race, especially in the midst of sadness. This part, below, touches me and will be placed in my studio:

Very good. We need to be reminded that we aren't under the law and we are set free by Christ.

Great reminder! It's not us, our works or any command or ritual that we might keep. It's all Christ.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Thank you!
