Introduction on you
I am a 25 year old graphic designer from Georgia who currently lives in North Carolina. My husband, Layne, and I have been together since we were 14. We were high school sweet hearts. We have three beautiful children; Abigail 4, Ellynor 2, and Kaleb 1. My freelance design work and my etsy shop allows me to stay home with them.
I have always been strongly connected to life as an artist. I see something interesting and I have to draw it. My start into design was a stem from my interest in art. In high school I took every art class I could get into, and I got bored. Design was so exciting to me. To be able to manipulate images and create anything that came to mind was addicting.
How did you get your start on Etsy?
After 6 years of marriage, 4 years of college, and 3 children, I started my own etsy shop, design*love*share. I wanted to offer biblically minded cards and stationary. I could never really find any my style, so I decided to make some. This evolved into journals and paintings. I don’t know how much further it will go. I wish to honor God in all I do. In Colossians 3:17 it says “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” My shop is just one way I can honor Jesus through design.
How did you choose your shop name?
I have a Graphic Design Business, Maria j Black Design, and then I started a blog titled "Design Loved" that features design that I really love. So it was only logical to have my shop named Design Love Share.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day? Are there really any typical days with preschoolers? I usually get up with my three children and we eat and have play time, then chores. Then I get to work during their nap. My husband gets home from school, and I working when I can.
If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?
As long as I am with my family, I guess it doesn't matter where. I would really love to visit Ireland though.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
What is your favorite Etsy item listing to feature?
I am really excited about my new line of journals.
You can also find her on Twitter, her blog, and check out her portfolio.
...and the winner from last week is...
The winner of the "search" 5"x7" fine art presentation giveaway from last week is Faith Caroline. Congratulations!

Your cards are lovely! Keep up the good work :-)
Set of 5 Inspirational Note Cards (1 John 4:16) is my favorite item but all of your work is wonderful.
Jeremiah 29:11 cards are my favorite, because my neighbor who started reading the Bible has really taken hold of that verse and I would give one of the cards to her:)
All the best with your shop!
What a lovely shop! So nice to meet you Maria! I love your Art Print Numbers 6:24-26.
