"Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old.  Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming.  Do you not see it?  Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert."  Isaiah 43:18-19

I love the idea of taking something old and refurbishing it into something new.  Some of my favorite shops on Etsy are the ones that showcase old furniture, jewelry, etc that has been re-finished or updated to make something completely new and different.

I also think it's pretty cool that my God is in the same business.  He takes each one of us -- people that have made mistakes, that have sinned, that have regrets -- and he makes us into something new and beautiful.  He gives us a light to shine out to the world to share His love and to share about His business of refurbishing... giving new lives for old

Of course, we must be willing to let Him in and to let Him work in our lives as He sees fit.  Oh, yes... some days it is difficult and it is painful.  But, it is so worth it in the end.  Days full of peace and joy.  Days full of love and laughter.  Days that will lead us straight into eternity.

I've been listening to alot of Mandisa lately as I drive to and from work each day.  She has a song entitled "Say Goodbye" that speaks of letting go of our pasts and looking to the new that we can find in God.  In closing, I'd like to share the lyrics with you....

To the voice to the liar in the mirror
Sayin you can't ever change
To the guilt that's sittin on your shoulder
Always keepin you locked in chains
To the past that you can't undo
To the pain that you're walkin through
To the small and the big mistakes
This is what love wants to say

Say goodbye
Say goodbye
To the one that used to be
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Everyday is a brand new mercy
Hello
Hello
This is where it starts now
Hello
Hello

Everything can turn around
In a moment, here's your moment
You can say goodbye

There is grace that you can't imagine
There is love that you can't out run
There is peace that you can hold onto
When your world is comin undone
You don't have give into the fear
Don't have to have let your story stop here
And when the hand tries to pull you back
You don't have to back, you don't have to go back

Say goodbye
Say goodbye
To the one that used to be
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Everyday is a brand new mercy
Hello
Hello
This is where it starts now
Hello
Hello
Everything can turn around
In a moment, here's your moment
You can say goodbye

To everything that breaks you down
It doesn't have to define you now
Jesus came to take it all away

Say goodbye
Say goodbye
To the one that used to be
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Everyday is a brand new mercy
Hello
Hello
This is where it starts now
Hello
Hello
Everything can turn around
In a moment, here's your moment
You can say goodbye

Happy Sunday!

Mel....thank you so much for sharing this sooooo important message.♥
My human-ess sometimes pulls me back and I have to look humbly up and ahead.
I will never understand why some people choose to dwell in the past. (my daughter)

Melanie,
A truly beautiful scripture choice and song lyrics. I am grateful every day for God's mercy and never have to worry where I'd be without it.
I am so honored to be a part of your post.
God Bless Always,
Lynn
