DECADENCE Jasmine-Neroli Whipped Creme

Introduction

A DOZEN ROSES Luxurious Soap

Hello! My name is Stephanie. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters. We have lived all over the country, but have just finished (I hope) our second New Jersey winter.

I have been creating things my entire life; designing forts, writing songs and stories, and dreaming of being more artistic than I've ever actually been. My creative side (and independence) likely comes from being an only child. I grew up playing school with the neighborhood kids and so I am sure it was not a shock when I went to college and became a teacher, (even though I really wanted to be a disc jockey for a heavy metal radio station).

Thanks to my mom, I have always been interested in cosmetics and skin care. Thanks to the teacher hiring freeze of 1991, my first job after college was with Aveda. Aveda is where I first learned about essential oils and aromatherapy. The education I received there led me to further my studies with some well known aromatherapists. After years of study I became an aromatherapist and just recently finished the equivalent of a master's in aromatherapy.

Now, I get to work for myself and run my business full time. I hand craft natural, fun and healing bath, body and skin care products. Seriously. Everything I make is completely natural. No chemicals. No fragrance oils. No preservatives. 100% natural. Seriously. All natural. For years and years natural products were so stinkin' boring that I put a great effort into making my products fun.

Founded in 1998, Spoiled Rotten Bath & Body Boutique has been spoiling product junkies around the world with handcrafted natural, fun, and healing bath and body products.

GRUMPY SKIN Moisturizer for Oily and Acne Prone

How did you get your start on Etsy?
Back in 2006 I was participating in Crafting Out Loud modern craft fairs all around the Tampa area with a great group of artisans who were selling on Etsy. The rest, as they say, is history.

How did you choose your shop name?
Actually, it was my husband's idea. I had always thought "Spoiled Rotten" was a great name for a day spa. He reminded me of this fact and so Spoiled Rotten Soap was born. This developed into Spoiled Rotten Bath and Body Boutique.  Aromatherapy Lab comes from my love for custom aromatherapy. I want my clients to be able to customize their products to fulfill their individual needs instead of just buying what I have come up with. Halo Aromatherapy comes from my love for angels and mixes in with the Spoiled Rotten theme.

SPA DAY Body Spritz

What does a typical day look like for you?
My work day begins in front of the computer pulling all of the orders from the last 24 hours and checking customer convos and emails. Then, I gather each order and package it. Next, I work on custom orders. Then, I take inventory and see what needs to be made and what ingredients and packaging needs to be ordered. I make whatever is needed and place orders if necessary. Then, it's off to the post office to mail out packages. If I have extra time, my favorite thing to do is research and experiment with new products.  In the middle of all this activity, I homeschool my youngest daughter.

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?
This is a tough one. I think I would like to be right in the middle of a lavender field in Provence, France having a picnic with my family :)

What is your favorite Bible verse?
The Lord created medicines from the earth, and a sensible man will not despise them. Ecclesiasticus Chapter 38:4
This is actually my intro for Halo Aromatherapy.
(I truly believe that God wants us to use the plants he gave us for food and medicine. I better get off my soap box or I could be here typing all day.)

What is your favorite Etsy item listing to feature?
Any of my aromatherapy items. I really wish more people would find a way to use aromatherapy in their every day lives. I hope to educate more and more people on the simplicity of using essential oils to better their family's lives.

Wonderful to meet you Stephanie! This is so interesting. I make my own cold process soap and also lipbalms as a hobby so I find all of this fascinating! Love the verse too.
