“But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.”
Matthew 6:6
We are all very busy these days, but it is still important to get alone with God. This verse in Matthew tells us to go into a private room, alone with God and pray. It is more important to the Lord that we are alone with him, praying, seeking, knocking and listening, than to pray in front of thousands. What we do in secret, when no one is watching us, is what He is interested in. When we get alone with God, we can listen to Him, hear His voice and talk to Him of our innermost feelings and ask Him our deepest questions. After we talk to Him, we should stop and listen. One good thing to do is listen to Him for as long as we talked to Him. He will answer us, tell us things, give us wisdom, in those quiet moments alone with Him. If you don't already, consider finding even fifteen minutes a day to talk to the Lord and listen to Him. It will make a huge difference in your life. As the verse says, he will reward you in the OPEN for what you do in SECRET! God is so good to us, let Him bless you in this way today and every day.
Dear God, help us to find the time to be alone with You every day. Open our ears to hear what You have to say to us. Show us Your plans for our lives in those quiet moments. Let us feel Your presence in our quiet place. We want to hear You, see You, know You. In Jesus name, AMEN.

Oh, you must have been reading my mind!
All week long I have been wondering after folks who practically jump up and down before men seeking their attention and approval...And here is the very scripture that says it all :o)
Do these things quietly and without fanfare-God sees everything.
Let our reward be having a joyful and satisfied heart. Thankful for the opportunity to do our part.
Thank you Daffy! I love that pic of you and Hank :)
Thank you for your beautiful post Anastasia. There's another verse that comes to mind as I was reading..."Man looks on the outward appearance, but, God looks on the heart." I'm so grateful for that.

Perfect post, Anastasia. It is so true and we all need a reminder to give Him the personal, quiet time He deserves. And truly, if you will give him your time and attention and then wait, you will hear in the quiet the "still, small voice." ><>
Just lovely! Thank you for writing this ♥
Thanks for the great reminder. Love that heart snippet too :-)
What I love about this post, Anastasia, is: it's so basic, so simple. God asks so little of us, yet, He lavishes multitudes of blessings on us.
The quilted heart is precious
