“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
Matthew 28:19
God has given us the command to go and preach the gospel to
everyone in all the world. This is a
daunting task and since it is a command and not a suggestion, it is one that we
must do. So how do we go about it?
We could quit our job and travel around the world, providing
we have the income of a multi-millionaire.
I am going to assume that no one reading this falls into that category.
We could surrender our lives to be missionaries in some
foreign country. That is an amazing
opportunity that I will not downplay. But without the call of God and
tremendous personal sacrifice, that does not happen.
How then can the average person be obedient and reach the
world for Christ? One way is by handing
out tracts with the gospel message on it.
Simply give them to the sales clerk at the grocery store, the server at
the restaurant or other people that you come across when you are out. (Make sure that if you give a tract to your
server that you also include a generous tip.)
We may never know this side of heaven what the results of our
actions are. The tract we hand out might
be thrown away or set aside and forgotten somewhere. But it very well may reach and win a soul for
Christ. We had a missionary come to our
church last week. He was in the military
and seeking for a way to make his life better. He came to the point where he
realized that he had tried everything but God.
So he prayed and said something like, “God, if you’re real, help me to
find you.” Not long after that, his friend found a gospel tract lying on the
ground - forgotten or discarded by someone else. Long story short is the man
got saved and has now led many others to Jesus Christ!
Pray about how God would have you share Christ with your
corner of the world. There are more ways
than the giving out of tracts. The important thing to remember is that there
are lost people all around us and in need of a Savior. How can you be that
shining light?
“Ye are the light of the
world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do
men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it
giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your
light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your
Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

I like the way you say to leave a bug tip with the tract! It's a good reminder That others are watching how we act and making up their minds about Christianity. Some good advise
