For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Romans 8:13-17

What an honour it is to be called a child of God!  The benefits for all Christians are that God personally adopts us into His family, we become his heirs to an eternal inheritance, we are considered co-heirs with Christ (wow!), and we no longer live as slaves to sin and don't have to fear any more.  And we can call on our heavenly father much as we called on our earthly daddy when we were little!  What an amazing thing God has given to us, to be called His children because Christ died for our sins.  Let us thank Him for his mercy and grace and seek to live in accordance to His will every day.

I love hearing that we are not slaves, but children of God. We can call him Daddy! I never get tired of hearing this good news. Thanks Deb
