Want to be Beautiful everyday, forever? What woman doesn’t?

Oh to wake up in the morning... hair perfect, skin flawless, eyelashes long and dark, lips deep and vibrant... right?
But what is Beauty? Is it truly the kissable lips, flirty lashes, sexy hair, and smooth skin?
 Not according to God.
“Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 (emphasis added)
So what should be in the heart? I don’t know if this will make your heart burn within you as it did mine...
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 1 Peter 3:3-4 (emphasis added)
Unfading Beauty. I love the sound of that- don’t you? But what about “gentle and quiet”? Hmmm... does it mean mousy? Weak? Nope. From Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible (online), it means a tranquil focus and dependence on God rather than on demanding self-assertiveness. (read all the details here)
I know a couple women with this unfading Beauty. They glow from within, and it’s obvious. If you don’t know any, begin to pray and look for some. God will answer. His model is for older women who are mature in godly womanhood to teach the younger women (not all older women are more mature in godliness, it depends on the rate of spiritual growth). And when you want to learn God’s way to do things, He is never silent. He rejoices in our obedience.
“What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22
Please join me in falling on my face before a righteous and holy God – passionately desiring His way rather than ours, that we may be effective in showing the world what life is truly about.
because Beauty is more than skin deep,
Emily

This is really good and what all women of God should seek... He will surely give this to us if we ask Him! :)

What a lovely post. A true reminder for today's constant pressures to look perfect. God's perfect is already within us if we love Him :)
