Hi, I am Deb...I do the buying, designing and executing of all pieces in our shop.
Hi, I am Dawn...I do the boring stuff, like pics, listings and shipping. (Deb frowns on the use of the term 'boring')
We became friends 12 years ago when Deb started attending the small Bible based church I was already a part of. We are two very different personalities, but God has a sense of humor and threw us together anyway!
How Did You Get Your Start On Etsy?
I, Deb, have been designing and making my own jewelry for approx 15 years and selling it to friends, family and co workers. My friend Dawn talked me into opening a shop on Etsy after seeing the success friends of ours have had selling on the site.
Where Did You Get Your Shop Name?
As to our shop name, this is a cool story....we have some friends that had a carpentry business years ago and they are brothers. They told me that they picked their name after opening a Bible concordance and on one page was Brother and the other page was Built - hence the name Brother Built. We decided to do similar and we opened the Bible and Deb's thumb was touching 1 Corinthians 15:20 "...but now Christ has risen from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep...". So that is the story of our name!
What Does A Typical Day Look Like For You?
Deb....I work as a cake decorator in a bakery and design my jewelry at night and during any free time I have!
Dawn...I am a stay at home wife and do listings for Deb whenever she loads me up with her latest creations.
If You Could Be Anywhere In The World For A Day, Where Would You Go?
Deb - before the throne of God
Dawn - same here!!!!
What Is Your Favorite Bible Verse?
Deb - Ecc 3:1 "...there is an appointed time for everything...." - Dawn says this verse appeals to my affinity for procrastination and I say it appeals to my impatience.
Dawn - Is 40:31 "they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall rise up with wings as eagles......"
What Is Your Favorite Listing In Your Shop?
My favorite item to feature is anything Dawn picks!
Dawn - my real favorites sometimes don't get listed because I snatch them up first!
