Introduction:
I am a stay at home mom of two boys (ages 8 and 11). They keep my extremely busy with school volunteering, room mom, and their many after school activities. I've been married for 18 years to a firefighter so there's never a dull moment.
How did you get your start on Etsy?
I was sitting at speech therapy for my youngest son and I was flipping through a magazine and saw a little story on marketplaces for handmade goods. That's how I found out about etsy and I couldn't have been more thrilled! Etsy provides a great opportunity for those of us that have zero marketing skills to get our products out into the marketplace. I love that Etsy provides a source of income that enables us to still spend great quality time with our families.
How did you choose your shop name?
I chose the shop name Elephant Tales because when my oldest son was little he was obsessed with elephants. I added the Tales part because every family has a such a great story to tell. My logo consists of four elephants. Each elephant represents a member of the family and yes, I'm the one with the pink toe nail polish!
What is a typical day for you?
A typical day for me would be getting the kids to school, volunteering in their classes, having lunch with them and then coming home to try and catch up on a million chores and Elephant Tales orders. Doesn't sound very exciting but I wouldn't trade it for the world!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
If I could be anywhere in the world it would be on vacation with my family in Australia. I've just always wanted to go there! Wouldn't it be great to hold a koala?
What is your favorite bible verse?
My favorite bible verse is "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
What would be your favorite item to feature?
My favorite etsy item to feature is my wood block birth announcement. It is such a cute, inexpensive keepsake for parents and grandparents.
