~1 Peter 4:12:

THOUGHTS:

Sometimes you feel as if you have been praying for ages and nothing is happening. You start to wonder if God is actually hearing your prayers. Or maybe you feel that God has told you no to your desires, your needs or your trials. This can cause you to become discouraged and stop praying all together.

I started writing this devotional a long time ago, and it is amazing that this concept has been truly revealed in my life just a few days ago, just in time to share it with you. You see, there has always been one desire I have had all my life, something I've wanted more than anything in the world. I prayed and prayed on it, and it seemed that it just would never happen. Now, God in His grace and loving kindness has told me (more than once because i'm slow) that "it will happen, just not right now". I'd been depressed for so long, discouraged and so many other things and just think... my loving God is just waiting until the RIGHT TIME. He is an awesome God!

DELAY IS NOT DENIAL

God's Delay does not mean Denial... God hears your prayers... and God promises to answer them. He knows your heart and what you want most in life... and in that He also knows the PERFECT time to give you your heart's desires. He has already PROMISED them to you...

Think of God as a true perfectionist...who wants everything for His children to be JUST right...who orchestrates all their moves so that it all happens like clockwork, exactly when they are ready. Now imagine us, His children, always running ahead instead of walking, always trying to go left or right instead of straight in His lead. Imagine us getting lost, falling, hurting ourselves, or going back to doing what we used to do. Imagine God having to come find us, clean us up and start the process all over again. Still a perfectionist He is determined for us to have all that we want at His Perfect time... now guess how long it’s going to take with us rushing Him or doing things our own way?

If we surrender to His will, follow Him and grow more closely to Him, then He can just easily lead us into all that we could ever hope for. And that is all that He wants, our heart, our love and our Dependency on Him. And He will give us what he has Promised... our heart's desires. Because once we align ourselves with His Will, then the desires that we have, as well as our hearts, our motives and our lives transform to BE His Will, and then all that He does for us, comes out of it.

So don't be depressed... just continue to wait on Him. And then, take it up a notch and speak your desires into existence. Tell yourself (or others) that God WILL give you your desires...because you are His child and you have given him your heart, mind, and spirit. He is your Savior and your Father. Then smile, knowing that your LOVING Father is right there beside you, leading you, protecting you, and guiding you through life...and right into your blessings :)

PRAYER:

Dear Lord we pray for the patience to wait on You. Your plan for our lives is better than our own, and we know that You only have the best for us. We move ourselves out of the way and pray Your Will be done in our lives. AMEN.

Surrender, patience, obedience, faith, prayer, an expectant heart... and love, love and more love. If we will just hold to even one of these...any of these virtues, the Lord will work in ways that we can't even imagine. Oh, but how easy it is to say and difficult to do. Thank you, for your inspirational article. Much Love! Cynthia

I've been waiting on something for 2 years. I have Psalm 27:14 in my wallet. This post fits perfectly, and I needed it!

I totally understand how difficult it is to allow God to work on the situation instead of trying to hurry it up. I have been praying for over 30 years for my son to come to know Christ and still waiting.
May God Bless you.
