I am a child of Christ, wife, daughter, sister and graphic designer. I enjoy creating beautiful graphics with inspiration that comes from His wonderful creation. I have a wonderful hubby who is a web designer. We have a baby waiting for us in heaven and a fur baby here on earth. A sweet little Jack Russell Terrier named Flora.
How did you get your start on Etsy?
While watching a youtube video one day I heard mention of Etsy.com. I immediately went to check it out. I was so happy that it was a marketplace for selling handmade items! I wasn’t crazy about the idea of getting lost in the shuffle amongst mass produced items over on eBay. I was even more excited when I found out it was only .20 cents to list an item. Where else can you start up a business with just 20 cents!?
How did you choose your shop name?
The nickname for my hubby Emil is Bear so he is the reason for the bear theme to my shop. The shop name is bearcengic: bear combined with our last name Cengic.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I wake up at 8:00am, we say a prayer for our day and study a few chapters in the Word. We then put on the kettle for tea and hubby makes breakfast a few days a week (a huge blessing). Once breakfast if over hubby goes to College and I open the shop at 10:00am. I reply to Etsy conversations, emails and facebook messages. I then start filling orders and creating custom designs. 5:00pm we close up shop and start dinner. After dinner I work on designs, catch up with friends on facebook or look through some magazines for design and color inspiration. Country Living, House Beautiful and Martha Stewart living are some of my faves. 10:00pm is time for bedtime prayers and some devotional reading. InTouch by Charles Stanley and Our Daily Bread are my faves.
If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?
Scotland - in a cozy Bed & Breakfast with my Bear.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
I have many favorites but one of them is: Isaiah 41:10-11
