“Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.” Deut 5:15
THOUGHTS:
Isn't it amazing how God gets a point
across? He is a God that if you don’t catch it the first time, He will
continuously give you the same word until you get it. This message has been
given to me three times, so I wanted to share it with you.
As we get older it gets easier for us to
blame our age for our tendency to ‘forget’ things. When in all honesty there
are things in life that we try to forget on purpose, while others we need to
remember but do not take the extra steps to ensure that we do not forget (like
writing it down). Finally there are things in life that we simply don’t feel
are important enough to remember. But are there things in our lives that we
really should never forget?
NEVER FORGET
We should never forget all the things that
God has done for us. Never forgetting the situations that he has brought us out
of, and the many blessings that He has given us. Unfortunately we tend to
forget these very things in two times in our lives, during the ups and the
downs.
Let me explain. When we are going through situations where we can’t see
the light at the end of the tunnel, we tend to overlook all the situations that
God brought us out before. We are so focused on being within this storm that we
fail to lean on the faith that we built before. The worse the situation looks,
the more chance we have of losing our trust in God and believing that God is
still at work in our lives. It is in these times that we need to praise God in
the midst of the storm, and put our trust in Him knowing that nothing will
happen to us that is not within His Will. And if it is in His Will, then He
will make a way for us and guide us, no matter what the situation looks like.
The other situation is when everything
seems to be going wonderful in life. When we are on top of the mountain and
being blessed. High on cloud 9 we suddenly forget to pray, forget to meditate
on His Word, and dare I say that sometimes we forget to even thank Him for the
blessings. When life is good we should praise Him even more and use our good
fortune to expand His Kingdom.
But, good times and bad times, well that
equals all of our lives? Yes, it simply means that no matter what season we are
in, there is always a risk that we will forget the God who we owe so much to,
and who loves us more than anyone can. The only one who can bring us out of any
situation and take us from glory to glory to glory. And that is something… we
should never forget.
PRAYER
Dear Lord we pray that we never forget your
grace and your mercy. Let us keep You the head of our life and that we praise
You no matter what is going on in our lives. Let us never forget the blessings,
miracles and power you have instilled in our lives, making our ways straight
and bringing us out of bad situations. In Jesus name Amen.
God Bless
Till Next Time

Truly spoken. The other day I was just thinking that I need to remember the many blessings God has given me during the hard times and the good time. But I'm glad that God sends these devotions through others to remind us. Thank you.
Thanks so much, Amanda. I was just thinking along these lines during the songs in worship service yesterday. Over and over the songs say that the Lord is our Rock and our Fortress, but it's so easy to think of Him as an insubstantial mist and the things of this world as rock solid. In truth it's just the opposite and we must not forget.
Yup, Amanda, very well put. Your words touch me because one thing the Holy Spirit is always trying to remind me of is all the times when our Heavenly Daddy has gotten us out of trouble and into victory.
Amen! And, we need to be reminded over and over, again. He is and has been our Rock. Beautiful words, Scripture and post! Blessings!
A beautiful post! Keep pointing us upwards, strengthening our faith, deepening our love and keeping our hope bright. When we forget to remember God's precious promises and His goodness to us, we need each other to remind us. You did a great job!! Thank you.
What a beauriful prayer!
