With all the talk about children I wanted to do a post about how Jesus feels about them.

Matthew 10:42

42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

Matthew 18:2-6

2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Causing to Stumble
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Matthew 18:14

14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

Matthew 19:13-15

The Little Children and Jesus
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

I have to think back a ways when my girls were children and pray that I did my very best to be their mommy and protect them.  I know I made a few mistakes along the way and for that I have asked God to forgive me.
This Richard Scarry book is one that Jenifer and Jodi both loved.  It holds a lot of sentimental value for us.
Jesus wants us to love and protect our children.

My kids were raised with Richard Scary! That was one of our favorite books as well. So many wonderful memories of snuggling up next to them reading.
Being reminded to both love children and be child like is always needed. Thank you for including Fonzo in your post!

I was just reading the other day in my Bible and thinking how precious it was that Jesus showed so much love and compassion for children!
