The CAST team is going to host a weekly promo thread! Judy of AngelsNEverlastings came up the with idea and is organizing it. We have over 1700 members so a thread dedicated to promoting our shops on ETSY could be a great success.
The PROMO THREAD WILL BEGIN on Friday, April 1st at 8PM EST (nope, it's not an April Fool's joke) and will run through the weekend.
Would you like to get noticed and produce more traffic to your shop? Then plan to join us by visiting the thread, posting your item on the list and then promoting at least the three previous items on the list. That means you promise to promote the three items posted directly above yours on the list at least one time each. You may promote those three items however you like, as many times as you like, as long as you like, just as long as you promote each at least once during the weekend. In return your item will be promoted by at least three people at least one time each. If you would like to promote additional items you may. You can blog about the items, make treasuries using the items, tell friends about them or use social media. See Judy's suggestions below.
"You can use a social media site like Facebook or Twitter (use the hashtag #castteam on Twitter so it will be easier for your team mates to search for your tweets and re-tweet them). These are good sources since Facebook has 500 million users and Twitter has 140 million users. Another idea is to use a bookmarking site like Stumbleupon or Kaboodle. These sites allow you to bookmark and share your favorite sites from around the web."
* The list will be a running list. Everyone will copy and paste the entire list and add their item link at the bottom and then post.
* The first people on the list will not have anyone above them to promote, they may pick any three items from the list to promote that they wish. The last people on the list will not have anyone below to promote their items, but Judy and others will make sure those items get promoted as well.
* Post only one item in this week's promo thread. This is our "trial run" so let's keep it simple.
* Read the descriptions of the item you are promoting so that you can describe them more effectively and get people interested.
* The thread will be closed to new entrees on Sunday April 3, but we hope the promotion effort will continue through the week.

What a great idea! Unfortunately, I won't be around when the thread starts because I'll be leading small groups at a youth conference this weekend. Perhaps I can catch the tail end of it, or jump in next time.
It will be a fresh change to focus on promoting someone else's product instead of my own. And this get our goods exposed to viewers beyond our own immediate reach. Looking forward to it!
Sue -- Great job explaining! I'm looking forward to getting more familiar with other's work and I hope everyone get lots of views. If you can't make it this time -- if it goes well we will schedule another promo blitz.

This will be a great thing, except that the 'running list' will get to be enormous. We did this on another team and ended up just copying the three ahead of us to the list. Gets VERY bogged down otherwise!
