Sunday Scripture - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.   1 Thessalonians 5:18

Over the last few days, many of us have probably spent time reflecting on the year 2010 and looking forward to the new year of 2011.  We probably all have many good memories from the past year along with sadness, disappointments, and maybe even a few regrets mixed in.  And, I'm sure we all look to 2011 with anticipation of laughter, love, dreams realized, and goals achieved.

Through it all -- the wonderful times and the times that aren't quite all we had hoped -- we can be assured that there will always be reason to rejoice, pray and give thanks.  Our God is so mighty and so awesome that no matter what journey we are on, we always can see His glory, call on His name and give thanks for all the many blessings He provides along the way.


Happy New Year!!  May it be a year filled with rejoicing, prayer and thanksgivings!

My pastor recently stated in a sermon -- "That no matter what we are going thru -- financially -- we are better off here in the us than 90 percent of the world". When you think of that it changes your whole outlook -- Yes there is always something for us to praise Him for.

Great choices of verses for the new year. Rejoicing always in the gifts the Lord has given us will change our attitudes towards the good and the trials that inevitably will come.
