Introducing

Anna Boyd

(aka Anna Boyd Creations)

and a Giveaway!

Here is what Anna says about the Giveaway Item:

This is a Butterfly Pendant Necklace that is designed to hang just below the nape of the neck. I loved discovering how to make these and have a great tutorial on my blog, http://annaboydcreations.blogspot.com.

This necklace is made with a butterfly from a Michael Miller fabric and has a silk thread chain that allows the butterfly to gently hang. The butterfly is so light that you can forget it is there, and is perfect for hot days when you don't want something heavy on your neck, or even winter when wearing a turtle neck and not wanting a heavy necklace.

The butterfly is 2.75 inches long from wing to wing and 2 inches tall at it's tallest point. The necklace is 18 inches in length. I designed this to fit a very small neck, like mine, because it is suppose to hang close to the neck. I also made it so it can fit a bigger neck as well. When ordering, please measure your neck and decide the shortest length the necklace can be to fit comfortably. I will add an extender chain to make the necklace that length plus a couple of inches just in case.

Introduction:

I am a full-time college student going for my AA and then my Bachelor in Elementary Education Science Emphasis to teach High School Biology. I want to get my Masters in Biology after that as well. I am a mother of two, wife to one, and an avid reader. I am a worshiper and lead worship occasionally. I play keyboard, want to learn to play guitar and violin someday. I love sewing and making jewelry as well as working with poly clay. I love math and science, dill pickles, Ted Dekker books, black beans, rice and, of course, chocolate.

How did you get your start on Etsy?

I had a few friends tell me about it and then set up a shop. My items are more a passion and hobby then a full-time biz. I'd love for it to get the point of having regular type orders, but I do it for fun more than anything.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My daughter wakes me up at 7am, we then do worship and Bible study time. I love to play my own worship music, but so does my daughter (age two) and even though I must admire her passion, she isn't the best keyboard player, so we usually put on Delirious, Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Hillsong United, Jesus Culture, Phil Wickham and other wonderful worship music. Then we have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, snack, snack (in between these moments I work on my blog, we take walks, etc) snack, snack, dinner, snack, snack.

I have a son too, he tries to do things with us too and I try to include him, but he is actually very content playing with his trucks and then cuddling with me for a little while.

On Tuesday and Thursday I have class all day, so that is all I do on those days. Since my son's school started, we school him at home through the Arizona Virtual Academy k12 program. On the days I don't have school, I am getting his lessons done as well. I am very busy no matter what the season it seems.

I then usually spend the evening with hubby, chasing kids or actually sitting down to watch a movie or TV show. If Stargate Universe is on, then I'm watching SyFy, also Eureka, Sanctuary - anything Dr. Who or Stargate. If it is during the school semester, then my day is pretty much school, homework, family. Business goes on the back burner during the school year. I don't have a 4.0 for nothing!

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?

There are a few places I would love to go, but if someone said they would take me anywhere in the world that I wanted to go today, anywhere, I would say take me to Bethel Church in Redding, CA. I want to spend the day in their 24-hour prayer chapel, their Healing rooms, and just soak in God’s presence there where they have cultivated it so wonderfully. Also, my husband would have to come along; I would only go with him.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

I do not have one; in fact, I think it would be impossible to truly have only one. Below are my favorite verses of God’s word. I do not take one without the other. In all seriousness, the Bible cannot have a verse says this or a verse says that, if you at first do not know what the whole says. Only then can you fully understand the little words.

These verses are the ones I stand by and believe with all my heart that Paul would not have prayed them if they were not possible. I put myself in these scriptures and pray them over my children and myself all the time.

Ephesians 1:17-23 (Amplified)

17[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,

18By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),

19And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

20Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],

21Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.

22And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church],(A)

23Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

Ephesians 3:14-21 (Amplified)

14For this reason [[a]seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name].

16May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].

17May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

18That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

19[That you may really come] to know [practically, [b]through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses [c]mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] [d]unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and [e]become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

20Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]--

21To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

What is your favorite Etsy item listing to feature?

I personally love my Nikole reversible bags. Locally, they are popular. I don’t know if I will make anymore though. Different kinds probably, because I don’t like to make the same item twice, or more than a couple times.
