Revelation 21

A New Heaven and a New Earth
1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

A brief biography from Monika:
My name is Monika. I have been an artist all my life and worked with a lot of different mediums; been a mosaic artist for 9 years now. I specialize in doing mosaics using a style referred to as "Pique Assiette or Tesserae". It is a French phrase it means “made from plate or stolen plate”. This process involves transforming vintage china/porcelain plates into artistic designs that are always one of a kind, and my own.
Growing up in Germany shortly after WWII; watching my parents re-use, re-cycle, re-invent - my involvement in the arts developed very early at about 5 years of age. Trying to make new candles from candle stumps - melting them on my little doll cooking stove, using simple yarn for candle wicks; it went “whoosh” and I almost burned the house down. Clothing my dolls by sewing, crocheting, knitting and cross stitch. Creating clay vases, paint and draw in my family’s home in Germany to now creating/working in my home in Florida. My interests and talents have evolved over time. Any type of art has been a constant presence in my life.
After all this experimenting with my very diverse talents I have grown into and have a very addictive desire to create MOSAIC, done from precise cut/nipped vintage fine bone china/porcelain plates, paired with stained glass tiles, vintage jewelry and other tidbits and baubles. My tools are Glass Nippers, Wheeled Cutters, Glue, Grout and Sealer; sometimes paint. I do custom orders and always involve my clients in the process of creating THEIR art piece.

How did you get your start on Etsy?

How did you choose your shop name?
Since I am from Germany, I thought it appropriate
to call my shop “My European Touch” and it stuck with me.

What does a typical day look like for you?
Waking up, reaching for my Bible and read a passage for the day from my Bible Study. Then I am getting up, while my kitty’s talking and greeting me excitedly, running to the kitchen, sitting down and waiting patiently in front of their food bowls to be fed. What a lovely picture that is in the morning. I will check my emails, take care of Computer stuff, package and mail.
Then I usually sit down and start cutting up China plates for my next project, if I am not in the middle of a mosaic project already.
Getting in my exercise either at the Gym or in the pool, for a change I will bead on my Christmon Ornaments, run errands, talk
with the Castteam and work some more on my mosaic art. Spend about half hour each day practicing my voice training...

If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?

Israel, God’s chosen Land and folks.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

I love the Psalms, especially Psalms 67 since I am so involved in music.
1 May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine on us]
2 so that your ways may be known on earth,
your salvation among all nations.
3 May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.
4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you rule the peoples with equity
and guide the nations of the earth.
5 May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.
6 The land yields its harvest;
God, our God, blesses us.
7 May God bless us still,
so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.

Psalms have been sung as far as one can follow History. I love them!

For Friends

1 Thessalonians 1:2 "We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers"

PrayerNotes

I am grateful for dear friends whom I have never met face to face but only here on the internet. They have a special place in my heart. I pray for them often and I know they pray for me as well. I am grateful for the friends I have met but who live far away, I miss them so but am abundantly thankful that we are able to keep in touch by phone and email and letters or cards.

BarbFredinDesigns

I am grateful for all the dear sisters in Christ that the lord has given me for friends, whether they are far away or very near, if we talk once a month or once a week. I am glad that God has given us each other that we might bear one another's burdens. Isn't it amazing that God cares so much about us that he blesses our lives with so many amazing people?

Praying that you are blessed today!

A couple of weeks ago, my family experienced a sudden and unexpected loss.  It has left us asking many questions.

"Why?"
"Why must these tragedies happen?"
"Why must life on this earth be so painful sometimes?"
"Why?"

I freely admit that over the last couple of weeks I have asked God "Why?" often.  It is so hard for this human mind of mine to understand why it must be this way sometimes.  However, I also freely tell you that I have not once doubted that God had a plan in this situation.  He only wants good for each one of us.  And, while the road to the good may be lined with difficulties, we can be assured there are many blessings to be found along the way.

Praying many blessings for us all as we walk the roads of pain and struggle in our lives.

Happy Sunday!

Please note that the only way to be featured as the CAST Shop of the Week is to tag your shop items "castteam" on Etsy and to not hide your teams in your Etsy profile. You will also have to have at least 12 items to feature. Those are the ways that I find great CAST shops to feature each week.

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.   Mark 10:13-16

Kissnangel

These are some of the most beautiful and touching verses I have read recently and I thought I would share them with you this week.  For someone like me who not only has small children, but has a special place in her heart for special needs and disadvantaged children, these verses reminded me just how much Jesus cares for us, even the littlest and most insignificant-seeming individual.

Sandy's Cape Cod Originals

You can just imagine the disciples' mindset when people brought their children to Jesus to be blessed.  Jesus was a popular teacher, thousands upon thousands came to hear him speak and to have their sick ones healed and the disciples themselves wanted their own personal time with their leader.  Add to that the fact that children did not rank highly in society and you can see why the disciples tried to turn parents away for wasting Jesus' time.

Zoey Catherine

But what did Jesus do?  He got upset with the disciples and insisted that the children be brought to him.  He picked them up and blessed them; he made time for them.  These verses made me think of how important it is to teach the children in our lives from God's word and to teach them how to pray, for how else would they come to Jesus?  These verses are also relevant for adults because Jesus states that only those who "receive the kingdom of God like a little child" will enter it.  In other words, as small children are fully dependant on their parents to care and provide for them, so we must be fully dependant on God for our salvation.

Bags Made To Order

So as you enjoy today's child-themed CAST finds, take some time to pray for the children you know and to pray for yourself, that you may always be reminded to trust in God rather than in your own abilities.

Pink Grapefruit Soap

Tell us a little bit about yourself Kelli!

-Your shop name(s)
l have desertsoapstone for soap and Exfoliate in the works for scrubs.

-Introduction on you
When I got married to my husband he was prepping for his architectural certification exam and I was assisting him doing renderings of homes his boss had designed. It was artistic, but technical and definitely only a temporary job (in my mind). Then my husband started his own architectural company once he became a certified architect and began using computerized renderings for his clients. I was no longer needed and decided to enjoy some of my free time. Then after the birth of our first child, I decided I needed an artistic release. I found soap making by watching an episode of “Crafters Coast to Coast” on HGTV and Desert Soapstone was born.

-How did you get your start on Etsy?
l was just getting started and feeling comfortable with selling my wares to friends and family and then my friend, Maryanne from Holland (MissTiddels), told me to try Etsy. As soon as l signed up, l could tell by the interface that l had found my platform of choice.

-How did you choose your shop name?
l live in the desert and wanted a name that would reflect that. Living in Arizona poses certain skin problems due to lack of moisture in the air. l wanted something to reflect that need, but also to appeal to tourists and the next thing l knew l started making soap that actually resembled stone so l just combined the two ideas.

-What does a typical day look like for you?
Coffee. Daily studies. Check shop messages and sales. Work on blogging and PR for about an hour and then off to hang out with my young kids. We'll be starting home school soon so we are currently working out the scheduling. When nap time comes for the kids and after they go to bed at night is when l get the most done, whether l am making up orders, shipping, creating or working on PR.
-If you could be anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?
l would have to say Paris. l have French blood so l would really like to experience their way of living for at least one day.

-What is your favorite Bible verse?
1 Thessalonians 5:21, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

-What is your favorite Etsy item listing to feature?
lt's either the Sandalwood soap or the Pink Grapefruit. Not only do they look great, but they smell amazing.

The Gift of Song
written by Monika of
http://www.etsy.com/shop/myeuropeantouch?ref=si_shop

I was blessed with this gift, at an early age I was humming and singing to my hearts content and have not stopped since, with one exception.
There was a time in my life were I could not do so, but prayed out of the debt of my soul to God to heal me and only by his grace, I was able to sing again.
Some of you know that God had restored my left vocal cord in 1987 after a surgery and I made a covenant with God I would sing his praises for the rest of my life.

Now I am facing the same illness on my left vocal cord, which I had in 1987 on my right vocal cord. My right vocal cord was destroyed back then. I pray that God will preserve my left vocal cord in this upcoming surgery and I can keep singing his praises, it's the only one I have left to sing with.

As an adult and a musician, I have always felt a certain connection with the Psalms. Human beings have been using song to express the human essence and emotions that go along with it for as long as we can historically trace. Whether you choose a Gregorian Chant from Europe, the folk music of our natives, the intricate musical expressions of Asia, or other various forms of musical expression from all over the world.
It is no surprise that in the middle of the bible we find and old song book from the ancient East.
It is also not surprising that the content of these lyrics, which were passed down orally for years prior to being written, contain songs lifting voices and instruments in joyful praise to our creator.

                                            http://www.etsy.com/listing/16451262/psalm-28-vs-7

Pslam 28:7
"The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving."

In reflection on the historical songs of God's people, I can only hope that God will allow my own songs to continue and inspire Joy and Thanks as the
67th Psalm. I truly hope and pray that I may continue, like all of God's people to "be glad and sing for joy".

Psalm 69:30
"Then I will praise God’s name with singing, and I will honor him with thanksgiving."
And I cannot think of a better way to unite all of us in Song and Praise.

My prayer today:
Gracious God, we praise you with joy and with thanks, like the Psalmist did so long ago. In gratitude we pray for your blessings and we offer our songs to you.
Amen

Prologue
1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Greetings and Doxology
4 John,
To the seven churches in the province of Asia:

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
            So shall it be! Amen.

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
